Limit Switch is a device that indicates the valve in closed or open position and provides a position verification signal. It can be mechanical or proximity. Limit switches send signals to computers that are often located remotely, often known as PLC or DCS, that are not near the valve. On top of a limit switch is an open-closed position indicator. In this way, when the operators in the facility are near the valve, the information that it is open-closed can be obtained visually. These switches are classified according to the ambient conditions in which they are located and operated. These are NEMA4, NEMA4x or NEMA7.
